School Climate Assessment Lab

Assessment and Evaluation Services

The School Culture and Climate Initiative (Initiative) is committed to using data from multiple sources to guide all school climate improvement efforts.  A data-driven approach ensures that decisions are grounded in facts, that resources are used wisely, and that progress can be identified, measured, and celebrated.

The Lab offers access to a variety of reliable and useful tools, data analysis and reporting, and assistance with interpreting the data to determine helpful next steps. Custom evaluation services to meet the individualized needs of schools or organizations are also available.

Assessment Interpretation and Support

Once survey administration is complete, the Lab collects, analyzes, and produces summary data reports. Data review meetings are then scheduled with staff and student climate teams.  These meetings:

  • Provide an opportunity for in-depth exploration of the data
  • Allow for discussion of significant findings, strengths, and opportunities for growth
  • Help team members identify other sources of data to include in the data review process
  • Conclude with insights that inform next steps and school improvement action plans

Custom Evaluation Services

The Lab provides a vast array of research and evaluation options related to school climate, social-emotional learning and school wellness including:

  • Program evaluation design support
  • Data collection
  • Analysis and interpretation
  • Data-informed decision making
